Cappadocia in winter: snow, balloons & a flexible plan
Plan for short days, cold mornings and an alternative to outdoor activities.
December to February
Nevşehir’s published long-term monthly means are about 2°C in December and around 0–1°C in January–February. These are climate averages, not a forecast for Göreme or your flight morning. Snow is possible, never guaranteed.
Can balloons fly in winter?
Winter flights can operate when weather and operating permission allow. A date on your itinerary is not a seat confirmation. Ask us to check the licensed operator’s availability; keep another morning free if possible.
A practical two-day outline
Day 1: arrive, settle into Göreme and discuss a hamam or pottery visit. Day 2: balloon enquiry for early morning, then a guided tour. Set exact timing after your flight and transfer details are known.
What to pack
Bring warm layers, a hat, gloves and footwear with grip. Avoid icy valley paths; use the self-guided guide for access notes and official museum information.
Prices and cancellation
Use the current tour prices below as individual starting points for your enquiry. Hotel rates, flights and transfers depend on the written offer; no winter discount or flight guarantee is implied.
